"Burford School has worked with the ‘Open your mind – Get a life’ project for the past twelve months. I have provided input by identifying what is of use to students and schools and I believe they have been adopted by the programme.
Our students have benefited by being able to receive one to one help with assessing their future and acquiring work placements or college places that they really want.
Organisations like British Airways, Royal Air Force and Virgin Atlantic have participated and links have been built with these organisations. We feel sure that any extension of the project can only lead to more students, schools and organisations gaining mutual advantage and we will continue to support this programme."
I.P Sanders, Head of Burford School
"I have been Head of Careers at Wood Green School for the past 3 years and during that time Roger Manners has worked with me on several occasions. He has explained his project ‘Open Your Mind – Get a Life’ to me and several times has asked for my opinion on certain points.
Using his contacts from the project he has been able to help me in school with work experience placements, in organisations such as Benetton, Nuffield Hospitals NHS Trust and several other, smaller, local companies.
I encourage companies to interview the students beforehand so that the learning outcomes of the students can be discussed at that meeting. Naturally this benefits students and employers alike. As a local employer, Roger has also been into school to conduct practice interviews prior to work experience with year 10 students, which has proved very useful for these students.
Also last year he came into school to do sessions with groups of 30 year 11 students on confidence boosting. The feedback from both staff and students was very positive.
I can clearly see the value of this project and hope it will be extended to increase the choices for students and employers."
Carol Davies, Head of Careers for Wood Green School
"I always found Roger reliable, enthusiastic and efficient. He was able to pinpoint the client's needs and to arrive at solutions to satisfy all the requirements of those involved. I can thoroughly recommend him."
Patrick Osmond, Managing Director for BBM
"Roger project managed my 15 bed care home and despite bad winter conditions, delivered it on time and within budget to a very high standard of workmanship. He works with a great 'can do' attitude, is dedicated to giving the best he can and manages to pass that on to his team of craftsmen. I had no hesitation in enagaging Roger to build my next project and would highly recommend him to anyone."
Dr Chanan Singh Sidhu
“I have known and worked with Roger for a number of years. He is a highly knowledgeable person with great contacts. He is reliable and takes trouble to get things right and to work with colleagues. Our work is mainly in investment and support funding for clients. Roger has been active in helping us to drive this work.”
Greville Warwick, Director for MCS Corporate
"I am pleased to say that I have worked with Roger on two levels: he helped me with my own game while I was competing on The European Tour back in the late 90's and early 2000's; he has also worked with some of the best young prospects from the County Squad that I was coaching, and several of these are now making their way forward in the professional ranks. Roger's approach is both logical and practical, and will surely help anyone who is prepared to put the effort in."
Andy Beal, Level 3 PGA Professional
"Over the years I have worked with Roger we have achieved some success with both amateurs and professional golfers that we work with. I would have no hesitation in recommending Roger to future golfers who were looking to improve their mental approach to the game of golf."
Dean Davis, Teaching Professional and world-renowned trick-shot artist
"Roger - A very big thanks for your help at the end of the year. I haven't gotten lost, just taking a break!"
